Resolve

Episode 6 of Tales of the Jedi begins with Ahsoka showing up at a funeral on Naboo for the death of Padme. She’s in hiding, and with a patrol coming, Senator Organa suggests Ahsoka leave and she does just that, skipping off into the night. With the Empire extending their reign across the galaxy, Ahsoka touches down on a remote farm land and adopts a new name, Asha. The group discuss the empire and whether they’re a force for good or not, with half split in favour of the Empire. Unfortunately, when Ahsoka uses her force powers to stop some hay bales from falling on a worker, her secret is outed, and one of the loyal workers lets the Empire know where Ahsoka is hiding. News of this spreads, and when Ahsoka returns to the village, she finds the place burned to a crisp courtesy of an Inquisitor who is there to find her. Ahsoka protects the traitorous villager and manages to stop the Sith in his tracks. Knowing that more will follow, Ahsoka tells the villagers all they’re going to have to leave the planet, flying away and finding somewhere else to make camp. As a result, Ahsoka decides to get back into the fight.

The Episode Review

The final episode of Tales of the Jedi rounds things out on a high, with the battle-lines drawn between the Sith and the Jedi. This episode is wonderfully composed too and the battle between Ahsoka and the Inquisitor – while short – works to really heighten the tension and give the chapter an extra dose of excitement Tales of the Jedi has done well to really showcase the difference between these conflicting views of the Sith and the Jedi, and in this episode we see the noble cause of Ahsoka as she gets back in the saddle and prepares to fight back against the Empire. Ultimately, this is definitely one of the strongest episodes of the bunch and there’s plenty to like about this chapter.
