Barry Season 2 Recap Season two of Barry is even weirder and funnier than the first season. Bill Hader’s added involvement behind the scenes adds a nice comedic touch to the show. “Ronny/lily” in particular is a masterclass in how to create a different kind of language to communicate with the viewer. The season sees Bill continue to avoid attention for his acts for the initial parts, but his secret eventually catches up with him....

A Ticking Timebomb After last week’s cliffhanger, Beautiful Love returns with another dramatic episode, showing us the repercussions from Hae-Rang waking up and how everyone deals with it. The show has one of its best emotional scenes at the end too, as the sisters reunite after many years. The episode starts with Hae-Rang waking up and grabbing Seol-Ah’s hand, asking if Mr Do is okay. This makes Seol angry and while she walks away in shock, the hospital calls Tae-Rang and he rushes to see his now-conscious sister....

The Basketball Hoop We are in the final stretch with this drama now as we are getting close to the last episode. This latest chapter brings us another decent installment as Cheong-Ah and Joon-Hwi edge closer to the truth. The finale promises to be quite dramatic and explosive as we say goodbye to our favourite characters and find out who will get their happy ending. The episode starts as Cheong-Ah wakes up wishing she could go to work while Jin-Woo upsets everyone by taking ages in the bathroom....

While the story behind Black Dog remains interesting, it’s still delivered with A very slow pace which does hinder the drama as the weeks tick along. The episode begins with the teachers from the advisory group discussing Chan-Hui coming to the informal as they don’t think it’ll be a good idea, knowing how much she hates the school....

Ocean’s Apart Daphne and Simon continue to dance around their problems as episode 7 of Bridgerton begins. Daphne decides to move out from Simon’s room while Lady Whistledown’s gossip rag reaches her at Clyedon. There, she learns about Colin’s woes and hurries back to the Bridgerton household immediately. Given how much power Whistledown has in this society, Eloise wonders whether they can turn their fortunes and spin something positive from this....

Upon telling him they found a heart, they reveal it did stop for a second. Despite this, he signs a paper accepting it in the hope of saving his daughter. Back in the present, Sasha hears noises coming from her bedroom ceiling....

Joong-Yeop’s Childhood Episode 5 of Chimera begins with that tense stand-off from the previous episode, as Joong-Yeop tells Eugene he’s not the culprit. He does, however, hint toward past memories but fails to disclose whose memories he’s referring to. Their conversation is cut short though by the legal team for the hospital arriving and bringing Doctor Lee home. As he sits on his sofa, in quiet contemplation, we cut back in time and see Joong-Yeop at the police station, berated by the corrupt officers as he tries to find his missing father....

Iron Ranger I really, really like Chocolate (the drama not the sweet treat). Every week I find myself trying to prepare for the drama ahead and constantly being hit with a poignant hammer to the gut. Today’s episode is no different, building up to a heartbreaking third act involving Ji-Yong and a beautiful tribute to him at the end. Lee Jun and Cha exchange messages about Su-Hui at the start of this episode, with the former telling her to throw out his plate....

Crossing the Line The day is finally here and sadly we say goodbye to this wonderful drama. It has been an emotional roller coaster but Crash Landing On You bows out with an incredible last episode, tying up all loose ends and giving an emotional but satisfying conclusion for all our characters and their story lines. We pick up where we left off with Seung-Jun getting shot while saving Dan. We then see both him and Se-Ri struggling to live....

A Harsh Reminder Of The Corruption In Malaysia Gritty, brutal and surprisingly relevant, Crossroads: One Two Jaga is a harsh reminder of the corruption rife in the underbelly of Malaysian culture. Following two separate stories that eventually clash during the third act when all hell breaks loose, Crossroads is a really well worked film, one that feels very similar to City Of God in both tone and thematic structure. The story begins with a reminder of one of Malaysia’s biggest problems – immigration....

Cutie Pie Episode 6 Cutie Pie is a comedic romantic Thai drama, one that combines these elements with a simple but effective story. That plot centers on two sons who get engaged to each other. Only, one of them doesn’t want an arranged marriage, prompting the other to try and win him over. Step forward Hia Lian and Kuea Keerati, our two protagonists. The pair are fiancées with an age difference of 7 years but while everyone who meets them claims the pair are a “match made in heaven”, Lian doesn’t see it that way....

The Pharmacy Episode 3 of Daybreak sees us switch perspectives to Angelica as she paces around the mall talking to the camera. Instead of fourth-wall breaks, she’s simply narrating the tale while Josh takes a nap following his finger-loss last time out. With Josh in desperate need of antibiotics, Angelica asks Eli if there’s any on his side of the mall but after some back-and-forth, he reveals he doesn’t. Instead, she continues searching around....

“Hope” is the thing with feathers Episode 1 of Dickinson Season 3 begins this final season with awkwardness as we open to Aunt Lavinia’s funeral. Unfortunately, the reverend blesses “this brave soldier”, getting his words mixed up. Even worse, he doesn’t realize that he’s actually blessing a woman. The reverend is behind schedule though, pointing out that he needs to bury 15 union soldiers that have passed in the Civil War....

Four’s Company Dispatches From Elsewhere returns this week with a deeper dive down the rabbit hole as further clues to the game and what’s really going on starts to materialize. Between Clara’s story, the various different fourth wall breaks and the medley of visual styles being used here, Dispatches From Elsewhere continues to impress with one of its strongest episodes so far. Episode 5 of Dispatches From Elsewhere sees the group head down to the basement where they find Clara, unblinking and smiling....

Teamwork Makes The Dream Work Dispatches From Elsewhere returns this week, delivering some crucial answers while keeping one niggling feeling hanging over the entire 43 minutes – is this really the end of the game or just another twist in the tale?
