What is Unsuspicious about?
The story is quite straightforward and wastes no time jumping into the thick of the action. After witnessing the murder of playboy Jorginho Peixoto, a slick bit of editing cuts us back a few days earlier. Three women receive letters; an invitation to dinner where Jorginho has a big revelation for them all. He’s convinced someone is trying to kill him. And unfortunately, that paranoia becomes a reality several days later. So who’s responsible? As Detective Nunes enters the fold, stumbling and bumbling his way through the investigation, the attention turns to the large ensemble for the rest of the show’s duration. Has Unsuspicious been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Unsuspicious has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s format, that being an anthology, it could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, Unsuspicious has had a pretty mixed reception from both critics and audiences alike, and at the time of writing there doesn’t seem to be that much buzz around the show. However, Brazilian shows – like 3% and Good Morning, Veronica – have done really well for the streaming giants. Taking everything into consideration, we’re predicting that Unsuspicious will not be renewed for a second season. What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. The conclusion does open things up for a follow-up though, especially if the cast return for another round of whodunit action! If this one is renewed, expect the investigation to intensify, stepping up to see exactly who pushed Washington off the roof.
