Love, Death + Robots is a unique animated anthology that spans numerous different styles and tones across its expansive – but short – episodes. With some thematically sound chapters and a lot of great ideas, if you’re a fan of the show you may be wondering if this one’s been renewed or cancelled.
What is Love, Death + Robots Season 3 about?
Love, Death + Robots is an animated anthology, centering around the three concepts from its title – love, death and robots. Sometimes these chapters feature all three, while other times we’re graced with more ambiguous and open-ended chapters. Volume 3 has graced us with all manner of interesting stories. This year we witness a rat apocalypse that works as an allegory for modern warfare. There’s also a hallucinatory trip on an alien moon. Not only that, we also get a whole chapter take place with an alien swarm in its nest; this third season feels like a definite step up in quality and storytelling.
Has Love, Death + Robots been renewed for season 4?
At the time of writing, Netflix have renewed Love, Death + Robots for season 4! Given how wildly popular this show is, and the seemingly limitless possibilities for more, this may well have been a no-brainer for the streaming giants. Netflix do have a pretty good track record with renewing their animated projects. Love, Death + Robots is definitely one of the more popular shows on Netflix too, and as such, they announced the renewal via Instagram on Friday 12th August. We’re super hyped and excited for the next installment!
What we know about season 4 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 4 at this point, given Netflix have only just announced a sequel. It would seem that there would be around 10 episodes, each ranging between 5-20 minutes in length. Expect some returning Directors and more thought provoking ideas to bleed through. We could also see more sequels like the Three Robots follow-up. It’s likely we’ll get a lot more variety with the animation too, and a few stand-out shorts. Given the open-ended nature of this anthology, there’s lots to whet the appetite. Are you excited to see Love, Death + Robots return for a fourth season?
